PUBG’s Krafton invests US$8.2m in a game developer

Krafton Game Union, a unicorn game developer, took up a 6.3% stake in Neptune after purchasing US$8.2 million worth of newly issued shares.

Neptune, a mobile game developer, has raised US$51.4 million so far. It is focusing on the e-sports market, having invested a total of US$22.6 million in Still 8 and Sandbox Network. With the new funding, it will continue its push to expand its e-sports business.

Krafton Game Union, formerly known as Bluehole, owns PUBG studio which developed and published the game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). Thanks to the global success of the game, Krafton is valued at US$5 billion.
