Jaranda, a child care and education platform for 3-13 year olds, announced the close of its US$2.6 million series A funding round.
Woori Bank, Daekyo Investment, D. Camp and KEB Hana Bank joined in as new investors, while 500 Startups from US and Kakao Ventures, who participated in US$759K pre-series A round last year, returned for this round.
The app recommends sitters and teachers, who are thoroughly vetted by the company, based on activities and children’s preferences. In addition, the company provides personal consulting services by child development experts.
Launched in May 2017, the app boasts 77% of user return rate and over 5,000 hours of sessions booked monthly.
